Can we play it?

Yes, every day, all year: it's Rosapenna's only course open through the winter. Old Tom Morris laid it out in 1893 beside Sheephaven Bay. It's the easiest walk and the cheapest round at the resort. Add it to your trip and Scotland Golf Tours requests the tee time for you.

    Main 2027 season 22 March–31 October; open all winter under winter restrictions (mats, temporary greens in frost). Golf-only tee times available.

  • The catch

    Winter rounds are played off mats from the fairways, sometimes to temporary greens. The front nine is newer, by Eddie Hackett and Pat Ruddy; the back nine is largely Morris.

  • Our tip

    Play it first: the resort calls it the perfect warm-up for Sandy Hills and St Patrick's, and it's easily walked.
