Can we play it?

Yes, visitors are welcome all year. Tee times are by request, and the club confirms them. Add it to your trip and Scotland Golf Tours requests the tee time for you.

  • Access

Visitors can play the 18-hole Barassie Links all year. The club doesn't publish fixed visitor days or start times, so you ask for the date and time you want and the club offers a slot. Check in at the pro shop at least an hour before your tee time. For the day, visitors are treated as members and can use the clubhouse.

  • The catch

It isn't in Kilmarnock. The club started there in 1887 but moved to Barassie, just north of Troon, in the 1890s. Put postcode KA10 6SY into your GPS, not "Kilmarnock".

  • Our tip

Book as a fourball. In summer 2026 a fourball costs £520, which is £130 a player, against £150 each. Rates also jump on 1 May, so April gets the cheaper shoulder rate. Barassie railway station is 50 metres from the club, with direct trains from Glasgow Central.
